About Me

Shayne Gue is a Senior Biomedical Science Major at Marshall University, in Huntington, WV.  He is also the recipient of the John Marshall Scholarship, the highest scholarship awarded for the University.  His stage credits include over 30 productions, including Amahl in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, Orin Scrivello, DDS in Little Shop of Horrors, The Rum Tum Tugger in CATS and many, many more.

Shayne also has an extensive Show Choir background.  He graduated from Cabell Midland High School in 2007 and was a 3-year member and dance captain for the “Rhythm In Red” Show Choir.  While in high school, he won numerous Best Performer Awards as well as a caption award for Overall Best Male Soloist.

Upon graduating high school, Shayne became the founder and director for the ARTS All-Star Show Choir, where he remained director for the past 3 years.  Under his direction, the All-Stars went from unknown to the “Best New Group in the Nation” and “Best Community Group” (according to scrsytem.net).  In the brief history under his direction, the All-Star Show Choir received numerous awards including the Fame Award, Overall Best Male Soloist, Overall Best Show Concept, Overall Best Costumes, Overall Best Instrumental Ensemble, Overall Best Vocal Sound, Overall Best Choreography, Divisional Grand Champions and Overall Grand Champions.  They were invited to compete at both Showstoppers Orlando and Fame Orlando National Show Choir competitions and have consistently placed in Finals at competitions in West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana.

Working toward a goal of Medical School within the next year, Shayne has decided to step down from directing in order to allocate more time to school, but would still love to remain a part of the show choir community through freelance work as a choreographer, show designer, adjudicator, clinician, and contest coordinator.  Contact him today to book your group for the 2010-2011 competition season!
